Abstract
An overall high recovery rate (up to 52%) and 450 m of continuous logging data of good quality at ODP hole 917A, Leg 152, SE Greenland margin, allow us to refine the petrological descriptions made onboard and to establish a precise lithostratigraphy of the Palaeocene volcanic succession. Changes in the dips of the flow banding between the Upper Series and the Middle and Lower Series coincide with the transition from continental magmatism to post-breakup volcanism established by the geochemistry.
